“Giving Abused and Abandoned Children an Opportunity to Thrive”

Apogee Electronics has been a supporter of Corazon de Vida Foundation (CDV) for over 8 years, providing not only funding, but also an opportunity for employees to participate in visits to the orphanages and to be a consistent presence in the lives of the children.  Apogee funding provides monthly support for the orphanages in the Corazon de Vida network.  These orphanages give abandoned children security, nutrition, shelter, and access to reliable education.

Recently, one of the orphanages, Rancho el Faro, received three siblings – Dianna 5yrs old, Ariadna 8 and Johanna 13.  The local police brought the siblings to the orphanage. At their tender age, the girls had already suffered severe abuse and neglect.  They arrived weary, tired, disheveled and hungry.  In just a few days, the girls look happy and content, knowing that they are in a safe place.

Another orphanage, Casa de Paz, received 3 brothers – Esteban, 3 yrs old (pictured), Lorenzo 9 and Alberto 12.  The brothers often left alone at home for large periods of time and survived by begging for food in the streets of Ensenada.  The department of child protection services brought them to the orphanage.   The boys arrived extremely malnourished and sick.  It has only been a couple of months, but now the boys look healthy and happy.

Apogee support is making it possible for abused, abandoned and orphaned children have a place to call home, a place where they can thrive and dream of a better future.
